Fui and I are just settling back into our New York lives and right away we have been inundated with new school schedules, moving into our respective apartments, homework and catching up with old friends. Many exciting things have been happening here this past month, among which were Fashion Night Out and Fashion Week. This year was the first time since moving here two years ago that I didn't see a show at the tents and it was quite a relief to just read about the events from the day before in the press the next day. I thought Fashion Night Out was a success in the sense that a ton people were out and about to see their favourite designers, models and celebrities. Most people were decked out in their best garbs and the energy of the city was palpable. I didn't see too many people shopping though perhaps due to the immense crowds at some of the more popular locations. That night I went to Bergdorf Goodman that night and met Alexander Wang who was really sweet to all his fans and sportingly took pictures with anyone who asked. I was impressed that he seemed so carefree when his show was only a few days away!
Last week Fui and I caught up over dinner at our friend, Ian's, place on Bowery together with two of our other friends, Jennifer and Vivien. Ian very kindly cooked for all us and we stayed in watching videos and Big Bang Theory, which I had no idea was that hilarious. It also turns out that Ian's pretty handy with the camera so here are some shots he took of us. -Hairin
