Style Magazine- May 2010 Feature

The people over at Style magazine in Singapore were nice enough to feature me in the Reporter: Wadrobe section of their May issue which is out now. This shot was taken by my friend Bri, in Riverside Park, on one of the windiest days this spring while we were between classes.

National day holiday at Fika, a chill, slightly minimalist and almost solely outfitted in Ikea(what else?) Swedish bistro my friends found on 257 Arab Street to celebrate my friend, Nurul's birthday. In the background of the third picture is an absolutely delightful strawberry cream layered chocolate cake mhy other friend, Syin, baked, smothered in chocolate ganache. It was a pretty awesome find, we have a running joke in my circle of friends about Sweden because one of my friends is absolutely smitten with all things Swedish and this would have made her so happy.

The Old Old and the New Young

This weekend was pretty eventful. Following my birthday dinner on Friday night, Beth had hers the following night at TinHill to commemorate her crossing into a new decade. It was a night to remember as school mates caught up with one another, best friends toasted one another and acquaintances became friends.

After whetting out appetites with either asian-style crab cakes with ginger sauce or a mushroom and watercress salad, guests had a choice of the wagyu beef burger served with hand-cut fries, miso cod pasta or the roasted chicken with root vegetables and pan jus for their main. The dessert pick of the night was an old-favourite, sticky date pudding, topped with butterscotch sauce and a scoop of vanilla bean icing. Although still not as good as Marmalade Pantry's it was better than the previous night's at Spruce. The dinner was concluded with Ivan's homemade vanilla and chocolate-chip birthday cake smothered in delectable green tea icing and white wine which guests enjoyed as conversations continued into the night. The evening was capped off with late night celebratory dancing as guests went to Zouk to get the other party started.
