One of our good friends, Yy, decided not to come home this summer and is instead spending her time travelling the world. She's given us a glimpse of her European jet-setting ways in this post and this is about her time in Paris from the past week. -Hairin

Travel tips for the Parisienne at heart!
- take a river boat tour... it gives you the best view of Paris' cityscape
- do visit the gourmet food section of Galeries Lafayette (and perhaps pack yourself a picnic if weather permits)
- go to Rue Saint Honore to soak in the genius of the French fashion houses (and maybe even spot Kaiser Karl shopping at Colette!)... but shop at the Marais area, which is full of local designers with chic one-off boutiques to guarantee an outfit none of your friends back home will ever have
- take a tour at the Versailles - it is well worth the extra 7.50euros (it allows you to skip the long wait out front & gives you access to private areas)
- do go to the Musee des Arts Decoratifs... they provide a wonderfully well-curated mish mash of jewelry, furniture and clothing articles spanning from centuries ago up to today
- finally, just be adventurous and open-minded - sometimes the best things aren't planned!
